The Location
The square named “Largo Marquês de Pombal” and its surrounding old town in Porto Covo showcase the marvels of Portuguese Enlightenment architecture. These days, the area is home to commercial spaces and restaurants. Porto Covo lies along the coast of stunning and unspoiled beaches. The small island called “Ilha do Pessegueiro” is interesting to visit. Once used by Romans to prepare fish, it’s now an excellent beach for windsurfing and sport fishing.
This region is known for its delicious fish dishes, seafood, cataplana, and feijoada de búzios. Porto Covo is particularly lively during the summer with a range of sports and cultural events taking place on its beaches and in the town center.
